Vitamins & Natural Supplements

What Vitamins & Natural Supplements do you recommend?

  • CLA
    • What is CLA? Conjugated Linoleic Acid is related to the omega 6 fatty acid group, one of two types of essential fatty acids the body needs for vital human functions. These include boosting the immune system, regulating cholesterol and helping to keep joints supple to prevent conditions such as arthritis.
    • Why should I take CLA?  One of the main uses for CLA supplements is its benefit to the metabolic function. CLA reduces body fat by increasing basal metabolic rate, turning food into energy more effectively. Research shows that weight training in conjunction with a healthy diet and CLA supplementation yields higher muscle development. There is also indication through trials that CLA may have a positive effect on overall strength.
    • How do I take CLA? We recommend taking CLA in liquid form because it digests much faster than pill form. Typically, brands will recommend 1-2 tsp (approximately 3 g) per day but always resort to the directions on the bottle first. CLA oil can be blended in shakes/smoothies, taken in a beverage, salad dressing, or straight.
  • Fish Oil
    • What is Fish Oil? Fish oil is a form of fatty acid that is derived from the tissues of oily fish.
    • Why should I take Fish Oil?  Fish oil supplements offer a wide variety of benefits but the top supported are aid in healthy cholesterol levels, boosting your mood and helping maintain strong bones. Although fish oils don't directly help you build muscle, they indirectly support the quality of your work outs. Most importantly, will enhance your overall health.
    • How do I take Fish Oil? Like CLA, we recommend taking Fish Oil in liquid form because it digests much faster than pill form. • Digestive Enzymes and Probiotics
    • What are Digestive Enzymes and Probiotics? Digestive Enzymes are naturally occurring substances present in your stomach acid that help to break down the food that you eat. The basic ones are protease (for protein), amylase (for carbs) and lipase (for fats). As diets change, stomachs mature, and intolerances develop, the natural enzymes become weaker and they may experience difficulty digesting the foods they had no problems with in prior times. Probiotics are naturally occurring bacteria that help in digestion, the assimilation of nutrients and also form a major part of your immune system.
    • Why should I take Digestive Enzymes and Probiotics? Many people take enzymes in the form of dietary supplements to replace the enzymes their body is lacking, or to fortify the enzymes found in their food to ensure complete digestion of each meal for optimal functionality.  If you don’t digest the food, you can’t absorb the nutrients.  If you don’t absorb the nutrients, you can’t get all the fuel you need for growth and repair! Probiotics support your gut health and in turn your immune system. Additionally, can help relieve gas, bloating and other digestive concerns.
    • How do I take Digestive Enzymes and Probiotics? Every brand is slightly different (of course, see the label for details) but most tend to come in pill form and taken once daily.
